Description A small map of Scotland (without the isles) by Abraham Ortelius and engraved by the Arsenius Brothers. It appeared in a 1601 edition of the 'Epitome' (a smaller version of Ortelius's 'Theatrum') and included text in Latin by Michael Coignet.The country is generally recognisable though the south is compressed while the Grampian Mountains ('Grampius mons') are located in both south and north.
